If you are getting harrassing calls from this number, the answer is yes. By filing a complaint, you are making the nature of the calls known to more people, including the caller. The more complaints a certain number receives, the more exposure it gets. This helps make the calls stop by reducing the efficiency of the caller's operations.
Indian accented male told me our computer was sending error messages and wanted me to go to the computer to chec k and rthey would "fix" the problem.
Asked for tel number and he gave me 347 227 6912.

I received a call from someone with an Indian (as in India) accent saying that she was from ET Protection regarding security notifications that my "windows" computer was sending. I also received a call with exactly the same approach in December of 2011. Today I took down the number and indicated that I will be reporting them to the South African police since they are contravening the South African Customer Protection Act. The call was promptly terminated.

Caller stated Windows users had computer programs "corrupted" (his words). Asked to turn on computer to check...did not do this. Checked and this is a scam to download software giving him access to personal info and allowing him to corrupt your machine. Reported to anti-fraud Canada yesterday...already 10,000 complaints re:this.

I received a call from someone with an Indian (as in India) accent saying that she was from ET Protection and is calling people in my zip code who are "registered" Windows operating system users. She said there was a virus going around in our area and computers are getting infected...scare tactics.
I followed along as she asked me to open my Event Viewer to the Applications log and said that the Error and Warning entries indicated that my computer was infected. I, of course, know computers and knew she was full of crap and when I called her on it she abruptly hung up.

Wanted to access my computer because of a virus. I asked him what country he was calling from and he said California. I could hear several people taking in the background. I could tell by the number on caller ID that it was a number from a different country. He then tried to tell me he was calling from San Francisco. I asked for a number to call him back on and he gave me a New York area code. I told him it was an area code from NY and he asked "how do you know," in a very thick Indian accent. I told him he was trying to steal information and hung up on him.

We are on the federal and California Do Not Call databases. We have asked these people repeatedly to remove us from their calling database, but it has not stopped their calls. They claim alternately that there is a Microsoft Windows virus in our area (a regional virus?) or that they have an affiliation with Microsoft and need to speak to the PC owner. It sounds like they want access to our PC to infect it. The caller today said he was from india.

Pretends to be from Microsoft. Says there are viruses on my PC. Calls me everyday with same scam. Wish someone would put this f*#k3r in the ground already.

Call came from 222-555-7777 claiming there is a virus on microsoft in our neighborhood. Asked for his number to verify this was infact Microsoft. Caller claimed he was calling from San Francisco and given the phone number of 347-227-6912. We knew in fact this is not a San Francisco phone number. I looked up this phone number on the internet and verified this is a scam call

This caller has called all week I wouldnt answer because his number shows 222-555-7777 on my caller ID. I finally answer and and a heavily acented and asked if I was running win7. I was leary yet answered him he said something regarding a virus and how he will help me just press the windows symbol and the r key similtaniously. At that point I asked him why his number comes up disguised and he gave me this number 347-227-6912. I looked up the numbers while talking to him and told him I will call you back. It did not feel right.

Calling that there is malicious viruses on my computer that affects Window. Asked me to be at my computer so she can guide me to fix the problem. I asked for her phone # and company name. I will verify their identity first. Googling the phone # led to complaints.
