They called and asked my elderly mom about her bank account. I called the bank when I found out about this and they said they hadn't called.

My mom received a call today from this number. The woman stated that she wanted to send her a new insurance card and needed her bank account number and bank name. My mom is 90 years old but she is way to smart to fall for this.

My grandmother came to me asking about a strange call she had received while I was away. A man with a strong Eastern accent called and told her her name correctly but gave her the wrong house number on the correct street. This tipped her off to a possible scamand when he asked what bank her social security came through, she told him she wasn't going to say because she didn't know if he was legit. He then hung up on her.

Keeps calling my elderly parents home land line number several times per day. In looking them up on the internet, it seems as if they are a scam tailored towards the elderly in an attempt to gain extremely sensitive information like their respective social security numbers. This is apparently done under the guise of telling the elderly individual that they need to be sent a new Medicare card.
